Reports to: Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are looking for a qualified Accountant that will be responsible for performing accounting transactions for Nova Ventures Group and its entities.  Responsibilities include preparing and posting accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entry transactions, reconciling balance sheet account balances and bank statements, preparing general ledger entries, and assisting in performing month-end close procedures. A successful Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. The role is based in our Wakefield, MA office with some flexibility to work from home on occasion.

Key Responsibilities

·        Perform accounting and banking transactions including posting and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, issuance of payments, and journal entries

·        Conduct monthly intercompany invoicing

·        Enter General Ledger transactions and assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes

·        Prepare accurate and timely reports, if applicable

·        Reconcile intercompany balances and balance sheet general ledger accounts

·        Maintain bank accounts and reconcile bank statements

·        Prepare weekly reports as needed

·        Other duties as assigned by supervisor; some travel may be required

Experience, Skills and Education

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or four years of equivalent work experience

·        2+ years of hands-on accounting experience

·        Knowledge of accounting procedures and concepts as well as financial reporting and analytics

·        Experience with General Ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

·        Experience working with foreign currency transactions

·        High attention to detail; ability to provide quality work product in a fast-paced environment

·        Familiarity with ERP systems and a willingness to learn Great Plains

·        Excellent MS Office and computer abilities

·        Superior organizational and time management skills; ability to reliably meet deadlines

·        Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to present topics in a concise manner

·        Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels within the company

·        Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with a small team

Compensation

·        Annual base salary, commensurate with experience

·        3 weeks paid vacation
