Management Team

Before joining Nova Ventures and becoming its Chairman and CEO in 2003, Mr. Barbookles served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Thermo Orion, a major water analysis instrumentation manufacturer that was a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermo Electron. Mr. Barbookles also served as President and CEO of Thermedics Detection, a provider of Analytical Instruments for Quality Control and Airport Security. Over the span of Mr. Barbookles’ career, he has held several Senior Management positions in manufacturing and operations with Cambridge Instruments, Warner Lambert/American Optical, Sierra Research, United Nuclear, United Technologies, and General Dynamics. He graduated from Buffalo State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with an M.B.A.

Ms. Barbookles, who began her career at Nova Ventures in 2005, works with its Division Management teams ensuring the successful implementation of the company’s strategies. She also oversees general legal affairs and manages all M&A activities from due diligence and deal execution to transaction financing. Prior to becoming President of Nova Ventures, Ms. Barbookles served as its Vice President/General Counsel. She holds a B.S. from Northeastern University, a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law, an L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law and an M.B.A. from Boston University School of Management. She also maintains her license to practice law in California and Massachusetts.

Mr. Larkin, who joined Nova Ventures in 2009, is responsible for its financial functions including accounting, audit, tax and corporate finance, and also works on M&A. Prior to joining Nova Ventures, Mr. Larkin was the Chief Financial Officer of Home Made Brand Foods, a manufacturer in the chilled food market, and held several senior finance positions with Munters Corp., a climate solutions provider, and Thermo Electron, which was a provider of analytical instruments and services. Mr. Larkin holds a B.A. in Economics from Boston College, an M.B.A. from the Suffolk University Executive Program and has completed certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Management Accountant.

Mr. Geis joined Nova Ventures in 2021 and serves as the Executive Vice President supporting the Nova Instruments Division. Prior to joining Nova, Mr. Geis was President of KPM Analytics North America Corp., a manufacturer of analytical instruments for food and product quality. He also served as Vice President of Xylem Inc. for the Analytics Division, manufacturing instrumentation for water, and wastewater, environmental, medical, and industrial applications. Mr. Geis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Ms. Bodkin joined Nova Ventures in 2024 and serves as its Vice President of Finance and Global Accounting where she is responsible for the global financial functions with respect to accounting, audit, and tax – in addition to supporting the CFO with various corporate finance projects. Prior to joining Nova Ventures, Ms. Bodkin was a Partner with BDO Canada LLP specializing in accounting and tax for entrepreneurial businesses servicing manufacturing and consumer product clients.  While at BDO she was elected to the Canadian firm’s National Policy Board and implemented strategic change to drive growth and improve overall quality.  She also served as the BDO Canadian Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer to assist maintaining and growing diverse talent across the firm.  Ms. Bodkin holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce from University of Windsor, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Western Ontario, Honorary Honors Bachelor of Counselling Psychology from Georgian College and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Ms. Colby joined Nova Ventures in 2023 and serves as the Vice President of Engineering supporting the Nova Instruments and Nova Metrix Divisions. Prior to joining Nova, Ms. Colby was the Director of Engineering at Axcelis Technologies, primarily responsible for driving gross margin improvement programs across all aspects of the business.  Ms. Colby also served as a product manager for the flagship products at Axcelis during one of the largest growth periods in the company’s history.   During her time at Axcelis, Ms. Colby was a senior ISO 9001: 2015 auditor, is a named inventor on two patents granted by the USPTO, and was the systems engineer responsible for designing and releasing many high value aftermarket upgrade products.  Ms. Colby holds a B.S.E.E from Northeastern University, an M.B.A from University of Phoenix, and completed an executive leadership program at Bentley University.

Mr. Brady joined Nova Ventures in 2024, bringing over 10 years of experience in Recruiting and Talent Management. Before joining Nova, Mr. Brady led a technical recruiting team for a supply chain technology organization before shifting into program management focused on workforce augmentation and talent optimization. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Brady will drive recruiting efforts, streamline talent assessment and processes internally and externally, and manage talent partnerships across Nova.

Ms. LaPerriere joined Nova Ventures in 2024, bringing over 10 years of experience in human resource management, benefits administration, and office management to the company. Before joining Nova, Ms. LaPerriere was the Human Resources Manager for a heavy civil construction company and worked for many years as an executive legal secretary. In her role with Nova, Ms. LaPerriere will be instrumental in streamlining human resource processes, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff as well as benefits administration and strategic planning, providing valuable perspectives on all facets of human resources.

Mr. Zadah, joined Nova Ventures in 2019, with over 17 years of experience in Information Technology, with major focus on web and digital solutions. He has been instrumental in successfully strategizing and implementing web solutions for financial and technology industries globally. He has managed various IT projects and brings a vast experience and knowledge in all fronts of IT, which helps drive productive web and digital space for Nova Ventures and it’s platforms. Mr. Zadah hold a MSc. in Internet Systems Development from University of Portsmouth, UK, a Postgraduate diploma in Interactive Media Management, Sheridan Collage, Canada along with PMP, ITIL foundation and other technological credentials.

Ms. Hector, who joined Nova Metrix as the General Manager of Sherborne Sensors Limited in August 2022, has over 20 years of experience in highly competitive and specialist businesses. As an experienced Executive, Ms. Hector brings a wealth of knowledge in managing multiple companies and engineering projects with a proven track record of effecting positive change. She is a performance-driven professional who specializes in positioning organizations to improve their overall profitability through streamlining operations, ensuring financial standards are met, instituting benchmarking, and carefully balancing risk and reward. Ms. Hector holds a Bachelor of Soc. Science Degree in Business Administration and Law from the University of Natal, South Africa, and completed the Executive Leadership program through the Säid Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

After serving as Director of Global Operations for Nova Instruments, Mr. Muller was promoted to President in 2011. His experience, including holding various management roles involving manufacturing and engineering support at Airbus S.A.S. in Europe, which designs, manufactures and delivers aircrafts, has made him an expert when it comes to sourcing and evaluating acquisitions. Mr. Muller holds a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Technical University in Munich, Germany and an M.B.A. from Boston University School of Management.

Just before joining Nova Instruments in 2012, Mr. Ullmann served as a partner and head of the audit department at BDO in Munich, Germany, a global auditing and consulting organization. He also held senior management positions at KPMG in Germany and the United States, one of the Big Four auditors. Mr. Ullmann holds an M.B.A. from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, is a Certified Public Accountant and Tax Counselor in Germany and has completed certification as a Certified Public Accountant in the United States.

Mr. Gokce joined Nova Instruments in 2025 as Global NDT Sales Manager, where he leads worldwide sales strategy and channel development. Prior to joining Nova, he served as Technical Sales Manager at Eddyfi Technologies, supporting international customers and sales teams in the deployment of advanced inspection systems.  Over the course of his career, Mr. Gokce has successfully driven sales growth, strengthened global distribution networks, and supported major accounts across multiple industries, consistently expanding market presence and delivering technical solutions tailored to customer needs. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University

Mr. Boone joined Nova in 2016 and serves as the Division President. Prior to joining Nova, Mr. Boone was Chief Executive Officer of Industrial Physics, Inc., a manufacturer of test, measurement, and inspection equipment. He also served as Divisional President pre and post divestiture of Nova Technologies Corporation, a former instrumentation platform of Nova Ventures that served the water, wastewater, and hydroelectric industries. Mr. Boone holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geoenvironmental Science from Shippensburg University and completed the Advanced Finance for Executives program at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business Executive Education.

Mr. Roehrig returns to Nova having previously been part of the Nova Analytics platform, which was sold to ITT Corp, now known as Xylem in 2010.  Since that time, he has held a position as CFO for KPM Analytics and served seven years as VP of Finance for Xylem’s Analytics and Treatment divisions. Mr. Roehrig has a proven track record in M&A, business integration and in optimizing financial reporting and controlling systems. He graduated in economics from Universität Konstanz, Germany.

Mr. Jeevagan, who joined Nova Measurements in 2026 as the Global Sales & Marketing Manager, has over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing within the material testing industry. Mr. Jeevagan brings forth significant experience in engineering-led environments, with a strong understanding of product application, customer requirements, and global market dynamics. Before joining Nova Measurements, Mr. Jeevagan held various positions at VJ Tech Limited, a leading manufacturer of advanced geotechnical testing systems, where he progressed from technical and operational roles into senior commercial leadership. During this time, he supported international sales growth, developed global distributor networks, and worked closely with customers and research institutions on product development, application, and system integration. He also contributed to the positioning and launch of new testing systems, aligning product capabilities with evolving market requirements. Mr. Jeevagan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering from City, University of London.
