Nova Analytics

Company History

The Nova Ventures Group management team successfully created two instrumentation divisions, Nova Analytics Corporation and Nova Technologies Corporation. Nova Analytics Corporation ("NAC" or "Nova Analytics") was formed in 2003 and became a global leader in analytical instrumentation technology addressing a broad spectrum of markets, applications and industries.

NAC's evolution into one of the world leaders in a multi-billion dollar electrochemistry and water quality instrumentation market began with Nova's acquisition of Corning's electrochemistry product line, re-branded as the 'Pinnacle' line upon acquisition. NAC grew further by acquiring two other leaders in the premium analytical instrumentation market in 2003: WTW Wissenschaftliche-Technische Werkst├Ątten GmbH (WTW), Germany's leading manufacturer of laboratory and water & wastewater instrumentation; and Schott Ger├Ąte GmbH (initially rebranded 'Schott Instruments' then ultimately 'SI Analytics'), Germany's premier manufacturer of electrochemistry instrumentation.

With three well-respected brands anchoring NAC's portfolio, 2004 marked a year of integration and operational improvements for NAC. In February 2005, NAC bought Secomam SA (Secomam) a spectrophotometer business in France. NAC remained active in 2006 by acquiring two highly reputable German businesses, each boasting leading product technology in their respective industries. First, in June 2006 NAC acquired Sensortechnik Meinsberg GmbH (STM), an electrochemistry business developing electrodes. Second, in November 2006, NAC purchased Ebro Electronics GmbH & Co. KG (Ebro), a German supplier of temperature meters, electrodes and accessories for the food, clinical, pharmaceutical and industrial markets.

In 2007, NAC acquired UK-based Bellingham + Stanley Ltd. (B+S), and US-based Global Water Instrumentation, Inc. (GWI). B+S manufactures a range of digital refractometers and polarimeters and GWI supplies instrumentation for measuring ground and surface-water parameters such as quality, level and flow. NAC's final acquisition occurred in December of 2009, when it purchased Aanderaa Data Instruments AS (Aanderaa). Aanderaa, a Norwegian business, that designs, manufactures and sells sensors, instruments, and systems for measuring and monitoring in the most demanding environments.

As of January 2010, Nova Analytics owned nine (9) operating companies with over 750 employees in 8 different countries worldwide, all recognized for superior quality and industry leading products; ranging from electrochemistry, optical measurement, temperature measurement, respirometry, and viscometry.

On February 17, 2010 ITT Corporation announced the purchase of Nova Analytics, further strengthening ITT's core business and increasing their global leadership position in the 6 billion dollar analytical instrumentation market, as well as improving position within water, wastewater and industrial process, food & beverage industries.
